S/N: 20245

10 7/8 x 19 3/4" 5 ˝ lb.
Fully original.
Condition: Near mint.
Background: In 4 part orchestrations for
banjos, the banjeaurine was developed to play the lead/melody part. All these
have necks considerably shorter than banjos. Early examples usually had rims
noticeably larger than banjos. This later example has a more normal size.
Electric No. 1 models were inlaid only a bit fancier than No. 0s and typically
had full spun pots. As stated earlier, the term “Special” before Electric
usually has no consistent meaning but this banjo does have one of the long
decorative metal stick covers that would not normally appear on a model of this
level.
Features of this instrument:
1) Ex-Bollman Collection.
2) Long decorative stick
cover.
3) Unusually tall pot.
4) There is a non-decorative
(i.e. well hidden) 8 mm. section of wood between the heel and its cap (presumably for strength and possibly related to the height of the pot).
