Condition: Excellent with unusual “repair” to the dowel stick.
Background: No specific information available. Likely made in the northeastern
U. S. The shape and exaggerated angle of the peghead are somewhat suggestive of
Boston-made banjos by Dobson. The massive area cut out of the neck near the rim
was quite common in this era. No practical reason for this is known.
